In April each year, our Rotary club coordinates a large canned food drive in partnership with the Agua Fria High School District and the Litchfield and Avondale Elementary School Districts, our Interact and Rotaract Clubs and the PebbleCreek community to support All Faith Community Services and the Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank.

This is well-established project because Arizona ranks 5th in the U.S. for the highest food insecurity rates. Just over one million people in Arizona are struggling with hunger, which translates to 1 in 4 children, 1 in 5 adults, and 1 in 7 seniors. These are our friends, family, coworkers and neighbors.  The Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank serves approximately 50,000 individuals experiencing hunger annually here in the Southwest Valley. Unfortunately, the communities served are some of the poorest – not only in the state, but in the country.

Our members enjoy working with our community partners and making a difference. The need is always there and often the summers are the hardest to keep the shelves filled when students are out of school.

In 2022, the club hit an all-time high of 33,000 pounds of canned food items collected!! WOW! Our local communities are very supportive of our efforts.
